Ongoing Projects

While I have dozens of short stories, story ideas, scenes, snippets and titles floating around in various folders on my computer, the few that are listed below are those I fully intend to attempt to complete.

The Cloud Collective

A collective of millions of minds lives in a giant dust cloud that orbits the sun, passing close to the Earth once every twelve years. Four of those minds come to Earth, each taking over the body of a human, with a single mission. To find the one who came before them and to return him and his child to the collective.

Rewind

For years Simon Turner's life has been plagued by unexpected, uncontrollable and seemingly-random jumps backwards in time. Sometimes it's just a few minutes, sometimes it can be a few weeks. He might revisit the same evening seven or eight times. It cost him his job, his home and his marriage, but one night he spots something different, someone else who may be going through the same rewinds as him - going through them, or perhaps causing them?

First draft completed October 2022, 43,000 words. Currently being redrafted.

The Last Angel

For two thousand years humans have known about the Angels, but what they don't yet know is that there are only a few Angels left and when the last one dies there will be nothing preventing darkness and terror from engulfing the world.

Devon Ward enjoys her calm and predictable life. She has an undemanding job and spends most of her free time reading or looking after her poorly mother. However, her life is about to be turned upside down when she learns the truth about her mother's illness, and the man who lives in the underpass.

Currently being outlined.

Another World

The Scrag is a futuristic slum in a world where the oil has run out. Electricity is rare, plastic is rarer and fuel oil is almost unheard of. Life is hard for Jenna Farris, but when she loses her father, her job and her home in the space of a few days, it suddenly becomes unbearable.

After being brutally attacked one night Jenna is rescued by a biker couple and sees another side of life. A full belly, hot bath and clean sheets are just a taste of life up the hill, and while her wounds are healing, she learns about the corruption and greed that kept residents of the Scrag in near-starving conditions while those higher up the hill lived in opulence and comfort. That same corruption, she finds, almost certainly led to the death of her father and she sets out for vengeance.

The outline for this needs to be firmer. There are conflicting ideas that could become two distinct and quite separate projects. I'm going to let my brain tell me when this one is ready as I have plenty to work on otherwise.
